​​Greater Washington Chinese American Community

The GWCAC is registered as a non-profit organization in the District of  Columbia.  The primary objective of the organization is to promote  Chinese-American culture and heritage by organizing, sponsoring, and  coordinating appropriate social and cultural events in the Greater Washington  area. 

Membership of the GWCAC  is open to those organizations incorporated in  the  metropolitan Washington area which subscribe to the   purposes and other provisions contained in the Articles of Incorporation and the By-laws of the GWCAC.

Except for those organizations which join the GWCAC as charter members prior to  the adoption of  the initial By-laws, any organization which wishes to  become a member of the GWCAC shall submit an application to the Board of  Directors of the GWCAC (hereinafter, “Board of Directors” or “Board”) for  approval.   Membership shall be effective on the date the Board  approves the application.
